Kirkstone Lodge

We had a wonderful week staying at Kirkstone Lodge and enjoyed everything it has to offer. The kitchen is very well equipped and along with the large bbq outside made cooking easy. We had a supermarket delivery arranged for an hr after arrival to stock up. The lounge has a great view and was a lovely place to relax with plenty of seating, and the WiFi worked well to keep the teens happy. The hot tub was also very relaxing and a great addition along with the sauna. The provision of a travel cot and high chair was great for our 1yr old and with a dog in tow as well the large enclosed garden was perfect for both to explore. We enjoyed walks into the forest direct from the house and the peaceful surroundings. With plenty to do in the surrounding area we would love to return and stay at Kirkstone again.

Booked this Lodge reasonably last minute for a much needed break away for the family, Booking process and communications were excellent and clear. Location was great - quiet, peaceful, scenic and far enough away but close enough to civilisation to make any day trip drives short. Added bonus is that local supermarkets will deliver to the lodge - made such a difference - our delivery slot was when we were due to arrive and as we pulled up to the lodge, the delivery van also appeared and within 30 of arrival we were sitting down in the lounge with a drink in our hand, the car empty, the kids had chosen their beds and shopping all put away. Staying in the lodge was easy, it was warm even without the wood burning stove on, the hot tub was great to relax in, there was a sauna, but we didn't use that. Cooking and food prep was a breeze in the well equipped kitchen. Wifi and internet worked great. Plenty of walks right on the door step of the lodge so no need to drive anywhere to stretch the legs or walk the dog. All in all, a great lodge, with good facilities in a great location that made things easy for us as a family to relax in as well as easily enjoy the outdoors has to offer.
