The modern farmhouse kitchen has everything you will need and the traditional living area has a fire right at the heart of it. The cottage has breath-taking views of the River Spey. Outside a decked area with stairs leads down to a vast garden, with access to riverside walks.

Good location for Aviemore and surrounding area. We missed having a welcome pack. Always received at other holiday lets. Not all beds as comfortable as some would have liked, single beds. We knew it was Thunder in the Glen whilst there but I think it should be mentioned when booking if not known. The music was very loud for two nights. We were concerned about the garden not being enclosed at the back meaning young children could get through to potentially dangerous water. Again this should be mentioned or a good fence put in place. Not sure when heating was scheduled to come on / off. Due to weather there were times when there was a bit of a chill and could not see how to override. More important out of summer season. Very good to have SKY in two rooms. Front bedroom seemed a bit draughty through single glazed window at night. Trains did not bother us but again don't know if mentioned in literature but probably should be for some.

Great stay!

We had a great stay at Spey Cottage. The location was perfect and the place felt really homely. The kitchen was a fabulous size and was great for cooking in. We would definitely recommend! The only issue was we turned up and there was lots of recycling left outside the house. Which we had to dispose of ourselves.
