Dog Friendly Restaurants in Aviemore

Taking your pooch on holiday but not sure where you can take them when out and about? We have taken the guess work out of it for you and below you will find a list of café, restaurants, pubs and days out where no one has to miss out. And, as a bonus, all our accommodation is also pet friendly!

Pet Friendly Restaurants Cafes, Bars

There are many cafés throughout the valley, however we have done the leg work here and listed all those that accept dogs.

Pine Marten Bar & Scran in Glenmore serves breakfast, lunch & evening meals in this funky Alpine style bar and café. Live music most Friday and Saturday evenings with great local beers and selection of gins & whisky.

The Old Bridge Inn in Aviemore is a wonderful stop for lunch, dinner or just to enjoy a relaxing drink. Right on the River Spey there is a large outdoor seating area, and some oven under cover.

Balavoulin in the center of Aviemore serves lunch, dinner and pretty fabulous cocktails. There are designated areas in the bar for your pooch.

The Bothy Bar situated below The Winking Owl serves great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of local gins, beers & ales.

Explorer Café which you will find upstairs in Tiso in the Aviemore Retail Park serves light lunches, cakes and great coffee.

Nethy House in Nethybridge is a wonderful cafe offering a wide range of home baking, breakfast rolls and light lunches with table service or as a takeaway.

Suie Bar in Kincraig is the perfect country pub. Regular music and pub quizzes this is a great little find & right next to our own Suidhe Garden Cottage, and Suidhe Lodge!

Pet Friendly Activities

Going out for the day and don’t want to leave pooch behind? The following activities accept pets at their premises:

Landmark Forest Adventure Park, one of the UK’s top 10 parks in Carrbridge welcomes everyone, even those with 4 legs. They only ask that dogs are kept on a lead and under close control at all times.

Cairngorm Mountain Resort is a spectacular place to walk, climb, tube, and ski! Grab a coffee and cake or sample some Cairngorm Gin in the highest Restaurant in the UK. Please note dogs are only permitted on the down train.

Strathspey Steam Railway is a great way to see the stunning scenery between Aviemore and Dulnain Bridge. If staying in Aviemore, get a one way ticket to Boat of Garten, stop for lunch in The Boat Hotel before walking back along the Speyside Way.

Kinrara Distillery on the outskirts of Aviemore offer hosted tasting experiences where everyone is welcome.

Finally, new to the area is Aviemore Dog Park.  This safe, enclosed space is the perfect place for exercise, learning and most importantly fun!
