Fabulous place to stay
on Tuesday, 03 Sep 2024
Forest trail lodge is a delightful house. Perfect setting next to the woods, the house is spacious and comfortable with everything you need. It’s a very social house with social spaces in the living and dining areas. Spotlessly clean with large rooms. The Great North Lodges app is very useful and helpful with the information provided and discounts for eating out. The house is expensive to rent but I guess that’s just current costs. Will definitely return.

Top marks for great holiday accommodation

Excellent property in beautiful location. The property is spacious, comfortable and really well equipped. Beds and bedrooms are a nice size and the kitchen has everything you need for a self catering holiday. The house was spotless on our arrival with a nice 'welcome pack' provided. Didn't make use of the log burner but the property is lovely and warm thanks to (I think) under floor heating. The garden is really large and is bordered by fences making it completely 'dog proof'. There is a gate in the back fence which leads out onto the woodland trails at the rear of the property. Nethy Bridge itself has numerous footpaths and trails. The walk to Murdo the cow and the castle is a nice one as is the walk to Broomhill Station. (From the station you can catch the steam train to Aviemore). The village has a great farm shop, lovely tea rooms and a well stocked shop. There is also a large hotel with bar. Further afield, the Highland Wildlife Park is well worth a visit as is Loch Garten where we were lucky enough to see nesting Ospreys. For a property this size we thought it was great value for money. All in all a fantastic property in a brilliant location.

We’ve been coming to Nethy Bridge as a family for over 30 years. Slowly migrating closer into the village as holiday houses became available. Forest Trail Lodge is the most idyllic location with all you could ever want on your door step. The house is so comfortable, well equipped for self catering, lovely and spacious with a fantastic garden. Can’t wait to be back!

Excellent lodge. The space was just right for our family of 9 and had everthing to make our stay very enjoyable. The dogs loved the garden and the numerous surrounding walks. Great location and would recommend to anyone looking for a holiday in this area.
