Great family stay for a week
on Saturday, 25 Jul 2026
The location of stables cottage was fantastic within short driving distance from Aviemore and with lots of walks nearby. Our kids especially enjoyed the garden and the chest of toys helped to keep them entertained. Perfect for a family stay. Due to the wild fires, some local activities and roads were closed. We found plenty of other things to do however and just means we have to return again one day.

Perfect Staycation
on Saturday, 18 Jul 2026
We have stayed in quite a few properties run by Great North lodges and Stables Cottage did not disappoint. It might actually be my favourite yet, no doubt helped by the heatwave we had! The outdoor space and terraces were ideal. The cottage has been renovated to an exceptional standard, and the accommodation was perfect for our family of four and dog. The bedrooms are all a great size and 3 shower rooms was a bonus. The property is in a great location and I especially enjoyed my morning walk through the woods into the village where I would grab a coffee from the fabulous Nethy cafe and sit in the beautifully kept gardens next to it. We also ate in the Nethy hotel which had a great menu to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that Stables Cottage may have claimed the top spot among your Great North Lodges favourites. You picked the perfect week to enjoy the terraces and outdoor space, we're so pleased the cottage worked so well for your family and of course, your four-legged friend too. Your morning routine sounds idyllic – a woodland stroll followed by coffee from Nethy Café is hard to beat. We can't wait to welcome you back for another stay – hopefully with another helping of sunshine!

Superb cottage in beautiful location
on Saturday, 11 Jul 2026
Stables cottage is perfectly set up to explore the Cairngorm region - with direct access to many of the forest trails in the area. The village is small and pretty. The cottage is an up side down set up which is ideal - keeping the living space warm and the sleeping areas cooler. It is clean and freshly decorated with all the amenities you would expect. We had a super stay.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Stables Cottage. Abernethy Forest & Dell Woods, which surrounds the village of Nethy Bridge, forms part of the Abernethy National Nature Reserve - this makes it a great place for spotting wildlife too. Hoepfully you will come and stay with us again soon.

We had a wonderful stay in Nethybridge. The Stables has been cleverly extended to a very high standard. Well equipped with 2 sunny decks and a super garden for a BBQ. We made good use of the local walking books and were spoilt in having the Speyside Way on our doorstep. A great addition the GNL portfolio.
